The Agri-Entrepreneurship Education Program is designed to increase the amount of entrepreneurship being taught in local agriculture programs across the country. With this information, students will be better prepared to become entrepreneurs and will begin to perceive entrepreneurship as a viable career choice. Twelve free lesson plans were recently developed that educators can use to teach entrepreneurial concepts. The Sources of Drinking Water instructional materials were developed to assist teachers who seek to enhance the source water consciousness of their students. The National Animal Identification System (NAIS) instructional materials were designed as a resource for educators to help inform students about the premises identification component of the National Animal Identification System. The 10 lesson plans include information about the history of animal identification, a complete step-by-step process for filing the premises identification form, and include scenarios and discussions that directly relate to real situations. The Renewable Fuels instructional materials were created for educators to use with students to develop a solid foundational understanding of renewable fuels. The six units of curriculum include information ranging from definitions of ethanol and processes within the ethanol industry to the exploration of career opportunities in renewable fuels. The student module courses explain what ethanol is, the production process, and the effects ethanol has both on the agricultural industry and environment as well as the impact of the ethanol industry on our culture and economy. Rev It Up is a toolkit of materials focusing on recruitment, engagement and volunteerism for rural youth. (The “REV” stands for Recruitment, Engagement and Volunteerism.). PDF versions of a student promotional guide and printable brochures are available for download. The student promotional guide is designed to help FFA students promote FFA and recruit new members. Marketing suggestions, tested ideas and tidbits of surprising FFA facts are all included so you can make the most of your recruitment efforts. The Living to Serve (LTS) instructional materials were designed through an intense roundtable meeting with novice and veteran agricultural education teachers. This group determined that service learning engages volunteers, integrates leadership concepts into real life situations, empowers FFA members to make a difference and most importantly helps all parties involved appreciate the impact that service learning can have on the community long-term.
